About WebQuests

A WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented lesson format created by Bernie Dodge and Tom March at San Diego State University in 1995. It guides learners through a structured exploration of a topic using online resources, ending in a concrete task or product.

The classic WebQuest has six sections:

• Introduction — hooks the learner and sets the scene.
• Task — what the learner will produce.
• Process — step-by-step path to get there.
• Resources — curated places to find information.
• Evaluation — a rubric describing levels of success.
• Conclusion — reflection and next steps.

WebQuest Forge generates all six sections from a single subject input. It's intended as a starting point — review the resources and rubric, edit the language to fit your class, and you're ready to teach.
